Thank you for partnering with us as a #ShareTheWarmth representative! We believe that all our efforts together will be a blessing to the children in North Korea. Whether it be through your college campus, church ministry or any other social network, Share the Warmth is the perfect way to rally the community to give back this holiday season. All it takes is $10 to provide 1 child with a new pair of snow boots. We would like to encourage people to give up a meal or a couple cups of latte to give back to a child in need.
For many of us, we easily overlook the value of a pair of shoes— Come winter, we put away our summer sandals in exchange for our boots, usually more a matter of comfort and fashion rather than survival. However, in North Korea, the harsh winters get as low as -20ºF in some rural areas and most children do not have the option to switch out their worn out shoes. While walking is the primary form of transportation for these children, our snow boots become a vital source of warmth and survival. Ignis Community's shoe donation initiative began in 2010 through a local shoe factory that was started in Rajin, North Korea. Since then, we have donated almost 70,000 pairs of snow boots to orphaned children throughout North Korea.
Each year, through the generous support of our donors, we have been able to help keep the feet of countless children warm throughout the winter. This year, our goal is to raise another $100,000 to donate 10,000 pairs of snow boots in 2017.
Together we can ignite hope and transform communities. Join our efforts and help us share the warmth today!

When will the children receive the snow boots?
Our production begins early 2017 soon after our campaign ends. The nationwide deliveries will begin in June 2017.
How does Ignis Community select the orphanages to receive the snow boots?
Ignis Community's field team has partnered with Korea Education Fund (KEF) since 2010 to find the orphanages each year. Due to the limited funding & production, often times, we return to the same orphanages for the children who did not receive a pair of snow boots the previous year.
How do we know that the snow boots are actually delivered to the children?
Each year during the fall, Ignis Community sends out a verification team from the US and China offices to Pyongyang to visit the orphanages with our field team. They ensure the deliveries were made and receive feedback from the orphanages to improve the snow boot design & materials.
